Stalybridge to Settle

This is really where it started in terms of keeping a journal. I decided I wanted to take a journey of about 75 miles, to see if I could do it and try to to raise a little money for charity at the same time. Having considered a few different routes, I settled on following part of the pennine way - partly because it passes within walking distance of my house and partly becuase it has always fascinated me. After a few initial teething problems, I found the best way to tackle it was to travel light, and split the route into 4 daily stages - 1 per week - and use trains and taxis to get me to and from my start/finish points.
